Retro meeting in Edinburgh

Organizers of Edinburgh Retro PC club on January 20, are holding an exhibition dedicated to retro computers like Atari and ZX Spectrum.

The initiative is the concept of George Tingle. As he said in interview to resource Scotsman: "I would love it if this became a meeting place for like-minded enthusiasts who love everything retro computer-wise. There is a wealth of fun and interest in collecting, restoring, programming and playing old 1980s and 90s computers. Some are very rare and highly collectable – prices vary from £35 to £3000 for some of the rarer models. Our members are few at the moment, but hopefully the word will soon spread. The Replay event in Blackpool is attended by thousands, and is highly regarded by specialists willing to pay tribute to the games and computers which today’s technologies are very much based on."

"There is nothing similar to this in Scotland, all the big events are held down south. “But I do believe that there is a lot of interest." - added mister Tingle.

Ретро встреча в Эдинбурге

Организаторы эдинбургского клуба Retro PC 20-го января проводят встречу-выставку, посвященную ретро-компьютерам, таким как Atari и ZX Spectrum.

Инициатива проведения мероприятия исходит от  Джорджа Тингла. Как рассказал он в интервью ресурсу Scotsman: "Буду рад, если мероприятие станет местом встречи единомышленников, энтузиастов-любителей ретро-компьютеров. Это неимоверно интересно: коллекционировать компьютеры 80-х и 90-х, программировать и играть  на них. Некоторые из представленных в коллекции очень редкие, и цена, за которую их можно приобрести, колеблется от 35 фунтов до 3000. В самом клубе Retro PC сейчас не очень много участников, но я надеюсь, что вскоре их количество увеличится. Выставка Replay в Блэкпуле привлекла тысячи людей, и специалисты высоко оценили дань компьютерам, на которых основаны все современные технологии."

"Ничего подобного ранее в Шотландии не проводилось, все мероприятия проходят южнее, но я верю, что и у нас люди проявят большой интерес", - добавил мистер Тингл.

SIDBlaster

A great device developed by Sergey Bagan (Prusak) and Alexander Alexandrow (Byteman). This sound card is capable of play and C64 sid-modules. It has GeneralSound-like ideology and can be connected to any Spectrum model.

SIDBlaster

Замечательное устройство разрабатывается Сергеем Баганом (Prusak) и Александром Александровым (Byteman). Эта звуковая карта способна проигрывать любые sid-модули С64. По идеологии SIDBlaster схож с GeneralSound и его можно устанавливать на любые модели спектрумов.
